When Will Canada Ban Russian Oil Imports?
Canada is still buying close to $1 million per day of Russian oil products.
Banning the import of Russian crude accomplishes nothing as Canada hasn’t imported any since 2019.
Canada does import other petroleum products from Russia. Last year alone Canada bought $347 million in other petroleum products.
By not immediately banning all Russian petroleum products, nearly $1 million a day is going to fund the Putin war machine.

Natural Resources Minister Jonathan Wilkinson has indicated that the Liberal government is in the process of banning Russian oil imports but provides no timelines to when the ban will take effect.
It's time we got a clear answer on when that will happen.
